30 Days of Acts of Kindness

30 Days of Acts of Kindness

Kindness is such an important yet neglected attribute in society. So many problems can be solved and so much positive energy can be spread across by just people being kind to each other. It is an attribute that needs to be taught and developed in children at a young age. That's why www.thedatingmaven.com  wants to inspire you and your family to dedicate 30 Days of Random Acts of Kindness!

Regardless of how many times you talk about or explain to your children that Kindness is important, they will not implement it themselves unless kindness is put into practice. So let's see how and what random acts of kindness can be included in your daily routine for the kids!

Prep Prep

For starters, introduce your child to the concept. Of course, they know what kindness is because they have seen it around and heard the word being tossed around the room but now it's time to explain and make them understand the true meaning of it. Explain the importance of kindness and how a mere kind gesture makes a difference.

Take some time to read a few books, give examples, and tell stories related to kindness. Ignite that spark and likeness in them to feel the urge to take on the task.

The Acts

Now that your prep is done, here are a few tasks that can be done in 30 Days.

1. Off to School

Since you and your child both won't have a lot of time on hand during weekdays, here are some easy weekday kindness acts for your kids that can be done during their regular weekday schedule!

Children spend most of their time at school. You need to keep something to remind them of you in school as well. Small things such as cooking their favorite meal for packed lunch and dropping them off at school are enough to exhibit some kindness. You can plan out an entire 30-day meal schedule of your little one's favorite dishes. With that, you can cook something for them every day!

You can also write little notes to them showing affection or just reminding them how much they mean to you. Keep these notes in their books or bags before they leave so that they find them when in school!

This age is also when children are being shaped for the kind of person they will be. Hence, they need to understand the values of keeping our egos aside and being kind to our loved ones.

Randomly say sorry to them for something you have done in the past. Let them know that you feel bad about raising your voice or scolding them. Tell them that this is something they should not do and keep control of. This will show your affection to them but also bring your relationship closer.

Similarly, saying other polite words such as thank you and please is something parents always forget when dealing with their children. Whenever they talk to others, they will use all these words meticulously but when it comes to their children, they can neglect using these words. Thank you, please, excuse me, may I, etc. are all polite and kind words that show your softness and gentleness towards handling your children.

2. Back from School

Take time out to ask them about their day. Ask about what happened in school, with friends, anything special they did, etc. Listen to what they have to say and reply wherever you can. These small things also go a long way. This act will also develop some necessary communication skills along with spreading Kindness.

You can get them a new toy, maybe something they have been asking for for a long time, or randomly invite some of their best friends over for a fun playtime.

In the free time that children get during weekdays, you can try to spend more time with them with the following tasks.

  • Help children in whatever you can - maybe with their homework, other study-related queries, cleaning up their room, etc.
  • Tell them how much you love them
  • Make their bed together
  • Cook something together
  • Read a book together

3. Weekends

The weekend is when the child and you both can participate in some activities together. You can talk to each other, get some creative ideas out, and put them to execution under your supervision. Some tasks you can do during weekends include donation drives and charity drives. Ask your little one to gather their old clothes or old toys that they don't use or require anymore and get them to donate them.

Visiting some NGOs working for the betterment of society and spreading happiness around them can also be a great experience for the children. Visit an orphanage or an old age home with them just for them to speak and interact with new people. If they love animals, you can also take them to an animal shelter and make them understand about animal rescues, animal welfare, and being kind towards the voiceless too.

They can also volunteer for such organizations. If they are willing to, you can ask them to do some household chores for pocket money. Ask them for something small like taking the trash out, cleaning their plate, etc., and give them a small token in cash after each accomplishment. Children love doing such small missions. You can also ask them to help out some relatives or neighbors in exchange for this and at the end of 30 Days, you can donate the pocket money to a good cause.

You can also opt for some fun outings to places you like. Maybe a beach outing full of beach games or mountain trekking for the splendid views or an amusement park full of thrill. You can plan a weekend away to enjoy and surprise them with a plan.

Final Words

We shared some small random acts of kindness you can undertake to make your little ones feel loved and happy. After intentionally practicing kindness together for 30 days, you can not only see an improved relationship with your child but also an enriched and compassionate child!
